Kind of documentary short film from asylum centre creative work-room.
This video came from the asylum centre for refugees. Here runs all year creative
workshop rooms. I was there few times (practising during my studies)and I
also had worked there as a tutor of that workshop for short time.
This video shows creation of a painting by young girl. It is a sunset – so
kitsch-like theme, but it became some symbol here – all of those people
(all of us) want some place to live. During painting process different parts
of clothes and bodies are flash through in front of that painting and it
creates lots of various visual situations.
It balances between naive optimistic video and in connection with pop music
songs playing there in real time even creates atmosphere of music video clip,
but on the other hand, e.g. when music stops, we can hear real situation
and character of that workshop. Most of time camera shoots the „inner“ space
of the painting and real situations in front of it come inside the process
of creating this painting, but in the third part of video camera zooming
wide to have a look on real space of the workshop.
This video relates to actual world problem, but rather than with a shock
or political point of view it works with opposite site-in a sense of old
stories about people.
