European partner institutions of the Virtual Residency :

So far, the Virtual Residency  project group is cooperating with four partner institutions in Europe, which are involved in contemporary art.

Galeria Biala, Centrum Kultury, Lublin (Poland)

Faux Mouvement, Centre d'Art Contemporain, Metz (France)

BWA Wroclaw-Galery Sztuki Wspólczesnej, Breslau (Poland)

as well as
Casino Luxembourg, Forum d'art contemporain, Luxembourg (L)

The final presentation of the project will be held on the premises of the Casino Luxembourg at the end of 2007.

The partner institutions in Lublin, Metz and Breslau will each be making their own selection from the concepts. In cooperation with the Virtual Residency project group, they will realize the exhibitions on their premises and act as curator.

The partner institutions are located in Saarland, Lorraine, Poland and Luxembourg. In these peripheral regions of Europe, they have found themselves in one way or the other confronted with the issue of migration. The utopia of a ‘’model house’’ can turn out to be very different in each country, given that the ‘’friction’’ between the artistic concepts from the cyberspace and the physicality of the real place is always different. All of these different aspects will be addressed by the art project at the selected locations.

As regards content, the entire project is based on a close cooperation between the initiators and their respective partners. Along with the ‘’virtual migrant’s’’ individual approach to the topic of ‘’migration’’, every partner institution’s perspective will also play a vital role.
