Though I am a sculptress that needs a steady place; I have a Migrate studio. With the Migrate studio I can go were ever I want and work in every land. For the Migrate Studio I don't need to carry much: few packages of colourful model-clay, a digital camera and a sheet of blue paper. In every new location, I invite passer-bys to sit with me for a short while, in order to be portrayed in the soft modeling-clay

However, the modeling-clay is a very fragile material; it can't be protected from the tribulations of the travel. Therefore, I photograph the portraits, and demolish the original ones. I recycle the modeling-clay for the next sculptures in the next location.

What's left from the portraits is only 'Passport' like photos; a documentation of a face with a particular and unique expression.

Through the years, I build up a collection of 'Pass-Portraits'. Some people are familiar to me and some I will never see again; I don't know their names, origin or backgrounds.

I ask myself: are they still recognizable? Can they be identified or personalized by these 'pass-portraits' without direct access to their stories, or their official documents?

Only one thing I know for sure; like the fragile sculptures, we are all having only a temporary residency on this earth.

With my Migrate-Studio, I would like to join the Virtual-Residency. In every location of the Virtual-Residency, I will make new Pass-Portraits and will exhibit their photographic prints, or alternatively will just project them on a monitor or screen in an ongoing loop.
